The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has sanctioned Rs 1,200 crore for infrastructure development in Arunachal Pradesh under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North East India (PM-DevINE) scheme. The funds will be deployed across eight districts for road connectivity, digital infrastructure, and the establishment of three new industrial parks.

The approved projects include the construction of a 120 km all-weather road connecting Tawang to Bomdila, a fibre-optic network covering 200 villages in Changlang and Tirap districts, and the development of the Banderdewa Industrial Park near Itanagar with plug-and-play facilities for manufacturing units. An additional Rs 150 crore has been earmarked for upgrading the Hollongi Greenfield Airport with cargo handling facilities.

DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced the sanction during a review meeting in New Delhi. "The North-East is central to India's Act East Policy. These investments in Arunachal Pradesh will unlock the state's immense potential as a gateway to South-East Asia," the minister said.
